The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heimo lands a jab to Granes's midsection.

and Granes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Heimo throws a sloppy head kick and Granes moves out of range easily.
Heimo looks for the body kick but Granes saw that one coming.
Heimo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Granes.
It seemed like Granes was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Aleksi Heimo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Granes throws a lazy right hand but Heimo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Heimo swings for the body but Granes moves out of range.
Granes scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Heimo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Heimo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Heimo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
