Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gemechu McKraken (ranked 86 p4p, 151 weight class) and Braynas Hlervu (ranked 11 p4p, 17 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Braynas Hlervu enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Gemechu McKraken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Braynas Hlervu!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKraken gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hlervu.
Hlervu throws a lazy right hand but McKraken sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hlervu misses with a looping right.
McKraken slips a jab from Hlervu.

Hlervu jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

McKraken loads up on a big right hand but Hlervu slips the punch.
Hlervu now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hlervu bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

McKraken has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hlervu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hlervu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

McKraken is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hlervu is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Hlervu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McKraken is just riding it out for now. Hlervu eventually gives up the hold.
Hlervu is trying to control the action in half guard but McKraken is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Hlervu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McKraken feinted with a counter takedown.
McKraken shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A little jabbing left from Hlervu on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Hlervu tries to bench press McKraken off him but McKraken keeps the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McKraken works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

McKraken got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hlervu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McKraken has managed to get both his arms back between Hlervu's legs - danger averted.
McKraken is working Hlervu over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Braynas Hlervu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

You can see the frustration on McKraken's face He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Braynas Hlervu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hlervu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Braynas Hlervu decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
