The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

It looks like Hudson Clarkson has been cut.
Smith pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Clarkson takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Smith just misses with a punch to the body.
Clarkson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
It looked like Smith wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Clarkson shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.

Clarkson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Mike Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hudson Clarkson.

Clarkson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Smith's half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Clarkson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smith doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Clarkson.
Smith on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Smith tries to get out of the position.

Clarkson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Clarkson eventually gives up the hold.
