Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Tarver (ranked 282 p4p, 551 weight class) and Jerry Short (ranked 17 p4p, 35 weight class). Short has chosen Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Tarver!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Short!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Short circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tarver gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Short not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Tarver is trying to control the position but Short postures up.
Short throws a big right hand that misses.
Tarver looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tarver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Short can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Short wants to control from the top but Tarver keeps moving.
Short tries to free his leg and advance position but Tarver is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tarver is looking to cinch up a triangle. Short throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Tarver's body to avoid the submission. Tarver has instead reached around Short's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Tarver arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Antonio Tarver!
