The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gage fails to land the takedown.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ruyjini.

Gage throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ruyjini was covering up waiting for the punch and Gage finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gage is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Ruyjini really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gage. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gage seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Gage trying to control the position from guard on top but Ruyjini is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ruyjini is concentrating on defense, preventing Gage from advancing position.

Ruyjini is refusing to be controlled, as Gage sits in half guard.
Ruyjini wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruyjini is staying active underneath Gage, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ruyjini is looking to get back to is feet but Gage passes into side control.
Gage with the ground and pound but Ruyjini regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Ruyjini is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Gage has latched onto it... Big trouble! Gage pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Ruyjini is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Gage!
