Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eric Brooks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 20 - 1, fighting out of New York, Patrick River!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

River gets tackled into the cage by Brooks. Brooks maintains the clinch.
Brooks is trying to break the clinch but River has him pressed against the cage.
River misses with a body punch.
Brooks blocks an uppercut.

River pulls guard successfully.

River looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Brooks wants to pass the guard but River is keeping the position.
Brooks slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Brooks trying to control but River is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brooks lands a couple of decent looking shots.
River wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Brooks stands and throws River's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Brooks is looking to counter the offense by River and move into the clinch.

Brooks doesn't manage to clinch there - River circles away.
Brooks throws a jab but it's blocked by River.
Brooks misses with a low kick.
Brooks misses with a two punch combination.
Brooks throws a push kick but River slaps the foot to one side.
Brooks throws a solid leg kick but River takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Brooks.
River just misses with a punch to the body.
River lets loose with a powerful body kick. Brooks will feel that in the morning.
Brooks tries to clinch but River moves out of range.
Brooks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but River moves away.
Brooks throws an uppercut from half a mile away. River sees it coming and avoids it easily.
River let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Brooks has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by River.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brooks throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
River throws a front kick that sends Brooks stumbling back into the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brooks throws a sloppy head kick and River moves out of range easily.
Brooks is breathing heavily.
Brooks throws a body punch but River moves out of range.
River uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brooks.
River tests Brooks's chin there with a solid looking shot.
River tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brooks swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Eric Brooks will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Patrick River's cut.
That's time! Brooks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

River is looking to chop away at Brooks's legs.

Brooks gets caught flat footed, as River shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

River throws a big elbow that misses.
River with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Brooks tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Brooks wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brooks keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

River seems to be working for a kimura but Brooks defends the submission attempt.

River seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Brooks is looking to control River's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brooks avoid being mounted?
River prevents Brooks from standing back up.
Brooks scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but River manages to mount him!
River throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Brooks is wriggling around trying to escape.
River lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Brooks hang on?
Brooks is desperately trying to improve his position but River has a good base and remains in mount.
River scoring with strikes but Brooks is staying in there.
Brooks is squirming around, avoiding River's attempts to control the action.
River lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
River lands a nice shot to the head.
River tries to control but Brooks wriggling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee warns Brooks that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

River unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Brooks wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! River celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Patrick River decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
