Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sensai Kuragi (ranked 487 p4p, 685 weight class) and Karl Schwarzschild (ranked 77 p4p, 99 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sensai Kuragi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Karl Schwarzschild!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuragi doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Schwarzschild cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kuragi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Schwarzschild connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kuragi scrambles back to his feet.
Schwarzschild throws a lazy body kick

and Kuragi counters with a single leg into guard. Schwarzschild didn't expect that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kuragi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kuragi wants to control from the top but Schwarzschild keeps moving.
Kuragi tries to free his leg and advance position but Schwarzschild is retaining full guard.
Kuragi has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kuragi has gone for a leg lock! Schwarzschild slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kuragi's guard.

Schwarzschild is stalling in the full guard.

Kuragi looking for subs off his back but Schwarzschild has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kuragi regains full guard. Nicely done.

Schwarzschild avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Schwarzschild got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kuragi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schwarzschild has managed to get both his arms back between Kuragi's legs - danger averted.

Kuragi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Schwarzschild content to stall in guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Schwarzschild got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kuragi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schwarzschild has managed to get both his arms back between Kuragi's legs - danger averted.

Kuragi looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Schwarzschild passes into half guard.
Kuragi is trying to get back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Schwarzschild performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sensai Kuragi will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kuragi tightens his grip and picks Schwarzschild up, before dumping him to the ground. Schwarzschild manages to land in guard.
Kuragi wants to control from the top but Schwarzschild keeps moving.
Kuragi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Kuragi content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Schwarzschild has locked up a guillotine! Schwarzschild's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Kuragi is holding on here and Schwarzschild must be using up a lot of energy. Kuragi has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Schwarzschild gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Karl Schwarzschild!
Karl Schwarzschild is the new middleweight champion!
Karl Schwarzschild decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
