Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mawi Da Oxlade (ranked 420 p4p, 486 weight class) and Yayi Zinsou (ranked 70 p4p, 86 weight class). Mawi Da Oxlade could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yayi Zinsou's chin.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Oxlade is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zinsou.
Zinsou changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Zinsou walks into a left hand.
It looks like Yayi Zinsou has been cut.
Zinsou looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Da Oxlade throws a shot from downtown. Zinsou moves away and avoids it.
Da Oxlade missing with a left hand there. Zinsou was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Zinsou tries to clinch there but Da Oxlade circles away.
Da Oxlade was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Da Oxlade uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zinsou.
Zinsou shoots in looking for a takedown but Da Oxlade manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Zinsou's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Da Oxlade has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Da Oxlade steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Zinsou.
A little feinted left hand from Da Oxlade on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Da Oxlade throws a looping overhand right but Zinsou ducks down to avoid it.

Da Oxlade swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zinsou fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Zinsou scores with a jab to the body.
Da Oxlade misses with an uppercut. Zinsou saw that one coming.
Zinsou feints the counter takedown.
Zinsou shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Da Oxlade sprawls well. Da Oxlade wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zinsou gets slowly back to his feet.

Zinsou fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mawi Da Oxlade has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yayi Zinsou.
Zinsou doesn't manage to clinch there - Da Oxlade circles away.
Zinsou wants to clinch up but Da Oxlade keeps it at a distance.
Zinsou loads up on a big right hand but Da Oxlade slips the punch.
Yayi Zinsou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zinsou tries to score a power double leg takedown but Da Oxlade sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zinsou somewhat.

and Da Oxlade counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Zinsou scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Da Oxlade doesn't seem bothered though.
Zinsou is looking to clinch but Da Oxlade is avoiding it.
Zinsou shoots in and drives through. Da Oxlade sprawls well.
Da Oxlade tried to counter with a leg kick but Zinsou avoided it.
Zinsou pushes Da Oxlade up against the cage in a clinch.
Da Oxlade lands a hook that snaps the head of Zinsou backwards.
Zinsou drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Da Oxlade gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Da Oxlade escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Da Oxlade defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zinsou.
Zinsou shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Da Oxlade as he jumps to the side.
Da Oxlade was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Da Oxlade throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And Zinsou tries to counter it with a takedown but Da Oxlade pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Zinsou shoots in and bounces Da Oxlade off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Da Oxlade keeping moving, preventing Zinsou from controlling successfully.

Da Oxlade looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zinsou is one step ahead there.
Da Oxlade has control of Zinsou's left arm, preventing Zinsou from doing any damage.
Zinsou throws a strike but Da Oxlade rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Zinsou is striking but Da Oxlade is not phased and passes to half guard.
Da Oxlade stalling.
Da Oxlade has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zinsou is looking to get to half guard.
Da Oxlade blocks Zinsou's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Zinsou really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Zinsou is trying to stand up.
Da Oxlade content just to control the position here.
Zinsou is trying desperately to improve position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mawi Da Oxlade dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Yayi Zinsou's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Da Oxlade here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
