Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dade Desjardins (ranked 2105 p4p, 2367 weight class) and Scully Peterson (ranked 285 p4p, 315 weight class). Desjardins comes to the cage accompanied by Last Caress- The Misfits. Scully Peterson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desjardins fails with a takedown attempt.
We've been hearing reports that Desjardins has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Peterson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Desjardins.
Peterson works the jab nicely.
Peterson lands a slapping body shot.
Peterson lands a front kick.
Peterson works Desjardins's body with a nice hook.
Desjardins misses with a takedown attempt
and Peterson counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dade Desjardins. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Peterson has closed the distance and engaged Desjardins in a clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Peterson.
Peterson presses Desjardins against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

and Peterson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Peterson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Desjardins shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Desjardins is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Desjardins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Peterson tries to roll over but Desjardins keeps him under control.
Desjardins looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Peterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Desjardins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Desjardins is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Peterson defends it well.
Peterson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Desjardins wants to take a breather but Peterson is having none of it.

Desjardins maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Peterson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Desjardins has cracked it and Peterson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Desjardins!
