PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between My Time (ranked 292 p4p, 376 weight class) and Chan Siam (ranked 42 p4p, 49 weight class). Chan Siam told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, My Time!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chan Siam!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Siam is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Time.

It looks like Chan Siam has been cut.
Time scores with a jab to the jaw.

Siam is rocked!
Siam defending well as Time loads up on a big left hand.
Siam feints the counter takedown.
Siam uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Time.

Siam gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Siam works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Time wriggles free and stands up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Siam shoots in for a double leg but Time sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
As Siam backs away, Time returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Siam scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Siam is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Time sees it coming and defends easily.

Siam throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Siam thows a huge punch but Time dodges it nicely.

Siam is looking for a kimura but Time is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Siam to get the leverage.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Siam lands a nice short elbow.
Siam prevents Time from standing back up.

Siam is working for a kimura but Time is defending it quite comfortably.

Time kicks off Siam and gets to his feet.

Time throws a right and a left that both miss.
A solid leg kick lands there for Time.

Time lands with a thumping leg kick.

and Siam counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Siam cracks Time with a solid left hand.

Time is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Siam presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Siam tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Time smiles and moves away.
Time lands with a slapping head kick.
Time looks to land a left hand but Siam moved out of range nicely.

Siam takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Siam cracks a nice hook into Time's ribs.
Siam scores with a crisp jab that stopped Time in his tracks.
Time misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Time throws a sloppy head kick and Siam moves out of range easily.
Time throws a shot from downtown. Siam moves away and avoids it.

Siam clinches.
Siam is looking for a takedown.
My Time has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chan Siam.
Time lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Time misses with a punch to the body.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Siam lands a shoulder strike.
A short right from Siam.
A short body shot lands from Time as the two fighters clinch.
Time misses with a punch to the body.
A nice left hand lands by Time.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Time escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Time fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Siam manages to avoid it.
My Time is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Time tries to work over Siam's front leg with a kick but Siam checks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Siam misses with a head kick.
Time tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Siam attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Time slips under a jab.
Some wild striking there from Time.
Time fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
My Time seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Time thows a left - swing and a miss!
Siam misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A big right from Siam misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Siam has Time up against the cage in a clinch.
Siam blocking some punches.
Siam is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Time is defending well.

Siam gets control of Time's arms and successfully pulls guard. Siam will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

My Time dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Chan Siam's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Time throws a sloppy head kick and Siam moves out of range easily.
Siam takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Siam.
Time is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Siam is controlling him well.

Time wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Siam connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Time some visible discomfort.
Siam wants to control but Time is keeping him busy.
Time tries to escape but Siam is in control.

Siam thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Siam looks up at the clock and then as Time takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Siam smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Siam is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Time looks calm but he's in trouble here. Siam gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Time is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Siam lets go of the hold and Time can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Chan Siam!
