The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luciano connects with a body shot that sends Henderson's belly button to the back.
Luciano fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Henderson.
Henderson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Luciano defends it nicely.

Henderson is trying to drag Luciano to the mat but Luciano just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

I was talking to Henderson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Luciano throws a right hand that Henderson ducks under and follows up with a left that Henderson also avoids with ease.
Henderson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Luciano pinned against the cage. Luciano gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Luciano slaps away a takedown attempt from Henderson, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Luciano leaves Henderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Henderson dives in and grabs Luciano's left leg, looking for a takedown. Luciano pushes down on Henderson's head and hops out.

Henderson is aggressively charging in as Luciano backs up avoiding any damage. Luciano tosses out a jab and Henderson runs right into it face first! Henderson is out cold! Luciano dropped down on all fours and is barking in Henderson's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ricky Luciano! Ricky Luciano retains his bantamweight title!
