The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abinader works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Abinader digs a good body shot into McGregor's ribs.
McGregor looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
McGregor throws a right hand that Abinader ducks under and follows up with a left that Abinader also avoids with ease.

McGregor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Abinader moves away.
McGregor has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Abinader.
McGregor ducks right into an uppercut from Abinader.

McGregor walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Abinader works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
McGregor looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McGregor fails to land with a series of punches.

Abinader connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of McGregor's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked McGregor - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Luis Abinader!
A relieved looking Luis Abinader thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Conor McGregor spoke after the fight, saying 'You might win some, you might lose some. But you go in, you challenge yourself, you become a better man, a better individual, a better fighter'.
