Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Liam Walker (ranked 2531 p4p, 23838 weight class) and Ikemba Okoye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ikemba Okoye was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Liam Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ikemba Okoye!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker throws the left hand but Okoye avoids the punch easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Okoye misses.
Okoye tries to clinch up.
Okoye bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Walker's head backwards.
Walker stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Okoye.
Okoye moves to clinch but Walker breaks away
and Walker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Walker throws a leg kick but Okoye sees it coming and moves out of range.
Okoye fails with the takedown.
Okoye lands a nice shot that snaps Walker's head back.
Okoye tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Walker paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

As Okoye backs away, Walker returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Walker wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Okoye takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Okoye misses with a takedown attempt - Walker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Liam Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ikemba Okoye.

Okoye tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Walker is pressing down on Okoye's thigh, looking to free his foot. Okoye is holding on for now.
Walker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Walker lands a nice short elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Okoye has momentary wrist control but Walker slips an elbow through the middle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Okoye is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Walker defends well.
Our spies down at at Primal Concrete Gym inform us that Okoye has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Walker goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Okoye rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Walker's guard! Nice work there by Okoye!
Walker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Okoye regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Okoye uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Walker has time to react.

Okoye avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Okoye throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Walker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Walker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Okoye.

Walker rushes Okoye and presses him up against the cage.

Walker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Okoye gets caught napping as Walker dives in and scores a takedown. Okoye manages to retain guard.

Okoye controls Walker momentarily but Walker frees himself.
Walker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Okoye's head.
Okoye is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Walker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Okoye has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Walker has managed to get both his arms back between Okoye's legs - danger averted.

Okoye is not content to let Walker control the position.

Okoye is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Walker is staying active.
Walker working over Okoye with some ground and pound. Okoye looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Walker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Okoye with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Okoye wants to control but Walker passes into side.
Okoye takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Okoye tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Walker lands with some strikes.
Walker scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Walker trying to control but Okoye is having none of it.
Liam Walker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Walker has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Okoye's face.
Walker fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Liam Walker dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Okoye slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

A lazy left from Okoye finds it's target.

Walker is rocked!
Walker ducks into an uppercut from Okoye and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ikemba Okoye!
