PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Aoki (ranked 1677 p4p, 6258 weight class) and Takeo Takeda (ranked 226 p4p, 610 weight class). Aoki kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shinya Aoki. Takeo Takeda will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aoki tries to bum rush Takeda with a series of wild strikes but Takeda uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Takeda sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Aoki's guard.

Takeo Takeda has got the better of the ground game so far.

Takeda is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Aoki has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Takeda is looking to defend but Aoki has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Takeda! Aoki pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Takeda taps out and this one is all over!
