Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Howard!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacob Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Taylor shoots in looking for a takedown. Howard tries to sprawl out of it but Taylor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Howard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Taylor shoots for a takedown but Howard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Howard swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Taylor shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Howard defends it nicely.
Howard is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Howard has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Taylor uses from the top position.

Howard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Taylor can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

and Howard scores with a counter punch that sends Taylor to the canvas! Howard smells blood - he's punishing Taylor with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Taylor has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

After winning the bout, Dean Howard thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
