Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Louis C K (ranked 2178 p4p, 2497 weight class) and Hugo Loris (ranked 224 p4p, 246 weight class). C K comes to the cage accompanied by Who let the dogs out. Louis C K had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Louis C K!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugo Loris!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
C K fails with an attempt to clinch.

C K pushes Loris up against the cage in a clinch.
Loris misses with a punch on the inside.
C K misses with some punches.
I was talking to C K's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Loris doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Loris tried to land a shot to the body but connects with C K's elbow.
C K drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Loris goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Loris tried to land a shot to the body but connects with C K's elbow.
C K misses with the head strike.
Loris is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Loris is trying to push C K away but C K has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Loris looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Loris stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
C K tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
C K wants to take the fight to the mat but Loris manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Louis C K. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Loris is working C K over against the cage.
C K drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Loris blocking some punches.

Nice body punch from Loris.
Loris misses with a punch to the body.
Loris lands a shot to the body.
C K swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Loris stalling in the clinch.
C K takes a shot to the head.
C K blocks an uppercut.
A nice left hand lands by Loris.
Loris blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Loris breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

C K shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Loris is trying to defend but C K finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Loris scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but C K manages to mount him!
This has been an exciting period of action!
C K avoids the attempt from Loris to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Loris regains half guard.
Loris wants to control but C K is keeping busy.
C K is trying to control. Loris wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Loris keeping control of the position.
C K is looking to advance position but Loris won't allow it.

Loris looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Loris is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but C K pulls his head out easily.
Loris looks like he's trying to stand up.
Loris has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. C K is working away from the top position though.
C K trying to mount his opponent but Loris defends it.
Loris wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Loris looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
C K is keen to just control but Loris is a slippery customer.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
C K trying to mount his opponent but Loris defends it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Loris throws a shot from downtown. C K moves away and avoids it.
Loris throws a nice outside leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Loris as C K shoots in.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A big left from Loris misses.
It looked like C K was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Loris.
C K misses with a straight right.
That kick from Loris tenderised C K's leg. C K is trying to keep his angry face on.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hugo Loris dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

C K will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Some wild striking there from Loris.
C K does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
C K moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Loris scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Loris throws a big shot that misses.
C K swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Loris throws a series of punches but C K avoids them all with ease.
Loris thuds his shin into the meat of C K's side.
Loris has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Loris enables C K to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Loris manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Loris is pulling down on C K's head to control his posture.

Loris looking for subs off his back but C K has passed one foot through into half guard.
Loris looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Loris looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Loris wants to control but C K is keeping busy.

Loris actively working from the bottom here.
C K passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Loris!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Loris wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Loris sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Loris is trying to maintain the position but C K is very close to passing his half guard.
C K sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Loris defending well though.

C K taking a breather but there's no such thing in a fight! Loris has locked on to a kimura from the bottom - he uses it to sweep and is now looking to finish from the top position! He's got it! C K has tapped! Great work by Loris! Lay and pray doesn't pay, kids! Just remember, you heard it here first.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hugo Loris!
Hugo Loris was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Louis C K was interviewed post fight and said 'Back to drawing board, i suck.'.
