The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mellios moves into the clinch successfully.
Fredrickson gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Fredrickson is just content to waste time from the top position. Mellios takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Fredrickson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mellios bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fredrickson's guard.
Mellios slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Mellios loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Fredrickson scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Mellios land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Mellios stands and salutes the crowd.
