Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Conor McGregor (ranked 5491 p4p, 24489 weight class) and Joshua Trabka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGregor's entrance music is The Foggy Dew. A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor scores with a jab.
McGregor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McGregor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Trabka shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McGregor but McGregor pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Trabka tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
McGregor throws a series of punches but Trabka avoids them all with ease.
Trabka shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McGregor but McGregor pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Conor McGregor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Trabka counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Trabka.
McGregor tries to break free but Trabka pushes him back against the cage.
McGregor has had enough of the clinch but Trabka keeps him there for the moment.
Trabka has McGregor pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. McGregor manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Trabka throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McGregor tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Trabka is in McGregor's guard.

Trabka fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McGregor, pushing him back against the cage.
Trabka drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

McGregor is trying to break the clinch but Trabka is controlling him.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McGregor wants to get up but he can't break Trabka's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That was a close round but I would say that Conor McGregor will probably get the nod.

Horrible takedown attempt by Trabka or perhaps it was just good defense by McGregor, which made it look bad.

Trabka decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
McGregor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trabka on the ground.

Trabka postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for McGregor to stand up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McGregor misses with a double jab
and Trabka counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
McGregor throws a head kick but Trabka moves out of range.
Trabka shoots in for a takedown but McGregor shows good takedown defense.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Trabka unleashes a big counter combination but McGregor bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Trabka clinches up with McGregor and pushes him back against the cage.

Conor McGregor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua Trabka.
Trabka ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Trabka no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Trabka is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Joshua Trabka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
