Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Ragout Mendy (ranked 2304 p4p, 1472 weight class) and Charlie Chan (ranked 323 p4p, 217 weight class). Charlie Chan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Ragout Mendy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Chan!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendy takes a jab right on the kisser.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mendy or perhaps it was just good defense by Chan, which made it look bad.
Mendy closes the distance and clinches up with Chan, looking for a takedown. Mendy pushes Chan against the cage but Chan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Chan, as that shot connected.
A swing and a miss from Mendy.
Mendy walks into a left hand.
A good leg kick by Chan.
Mendy shoots in for a takedown but Chan shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pierre Ragout Mendy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice straight punches there by Chan. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Chan.
Chan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mendy on the side of the head.

Chan fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mendy.

The crowd cheers as Chan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mendy doesn't seem phased though.
Mendy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
No joy there for Mendy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Chan is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Mendy had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mendy. That did some damage!
Chan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mendy momentarily.

Chan has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Mendy throws a jab when Chan was well out of range.

Chan scores with a sloppy right hand. Mendy should have avoided that one.

Chan stuns Mendy with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Chan connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Chan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mendys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The fighters circling - Mendy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Chan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Mendy looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Oh Mendy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Mendy moves forwards but Chan connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Mendy throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Mendy throws a looping overhand right but Chan ducks down to avoid it.

Mendy darts in looking for a takedown but Chan gets double underhooks and turns Mendy into the cage.

Chan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Chan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Chan scores with a crisp jab that stopped Mendy in his tracks.
Mendy takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Chan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mendy's head.

Chan connects with a body shot that sends Mendy's belly button to the back.

Chan throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Chan scores with a jab to the head.
Mendy moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Mendy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Chan throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Mendy crashing down! Mendy tries to stagger back to his feet but Chan just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Mendy asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
