Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Spanky Loco (ranked 2393 p4p, 5141 weight class) and Fabiano Martinez (ranked 328 p4p, 533 weight class). Loco comes to the cage accompanied by Barrie - My everything . Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Spanky Loco!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabiano Martinez!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loco scores with a leg kick.
Martinez fails with the takedown

and Loco counters by clinching up.
Loco content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Martinez is fighting off a takedown attempt but Loco is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Martinez to the mat. Martinez regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Martinez working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Loco has passed into half guard!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Loco's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Loco seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Martinez for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martinez is trying to stand.

Still in half guard, Loco seems content to control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Loco has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Martinez gets caught flat footed, as Loco shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Loco controlling from the top position.

Martinez working for a triangle but Loco defends it easily.
Martinez wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Loco is now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Loco in particular looking to stall.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Loco is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Loco clinches up with Martinez and pushes him back against the cage.

Loco breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Loco scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Loco is taking a breather. Martinez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Martinez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Loco is working away from the top position though.

Martinez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Martinez tries to clinch up.
Loco drops down looking for a counter takedown but Martinez sprawls and moves away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Loco lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martinez tries to get to full guard but Loco has control of the leg.
Loco perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Spanky Loco is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Loco manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Martinez on his heels. He'll look to pass Martinez's guard now, I'm sure.
Martinez is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Loco dives into side control.

Martinez tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Loco easily slips into full mount!
Loco takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Spanky Loco overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Loco avoids the attempt from Martinez to control.

Spanky Loco dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Martinez tries to clinch up but Loco circles away and keeps his distance.
Loco is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Martinez can do to turn this around?

Loco is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Loco decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Loco scores with a head kick. Martinez tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Fabiano Martinez has been cut.

Loco shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Martinez is trying to defend but Loco finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Loco shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Martinez's guard.

Martinez looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Loco puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Martinez throws his legs up looking for a submission but Loco uses it to pass to side control.
Loco advances to mount.
Loco takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Martinez reaches up to try and control the position but Loco seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Martinez rolls and tries to escape and now Loco has his back!

I really don't envy Martinez right now.
Martinez is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Loco off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Loco has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Martinez's body.
Martinez trying to control the position but Loco manages to sink in the hooks.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Martinez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Martinez is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?

Well Loco has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Spanky Loco is the new welterweight champion!
Spanky Loco decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
