Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Smith (ranked 3521 p4p, 3617 weight class) and Truman Roosevelt (ranked 446 p4p, 452 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Matt Smith has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Matt Smith seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roosevelt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.
A counter left hand to the body from Smith misses its target.
Smith definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nice takedown defense from Roosevelt. No joy for Smith on that attempt.
Roosevelt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smith swivels and escapes.

and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Smith wants to pass the guard but Roosevelt is defending well.
Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Roosevelt with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Smith lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Smith prevents Roosevelt from improving his position.
Roosevelt works his way to full guard. Good work.
Smith connects with a couple of short punches.
Smith in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Roosevelt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Roosevelt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roosevelt on the ground.

Roosevelt seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Smith is rocked!
Smith takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Oh Smith is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Roosevelt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Roosevelt postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Smith badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Roosevelt around the waist but Roosevelt pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Roosevelt is the winner by TKO! Roosevelt jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
