Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Davdio Branko (ranked 580 p4p, 700 weight class) and Justin Case (ranked 30 p4p, 41 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Davdio Branko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Case!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Branko shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Case but Case pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Branko keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Case.
Branko half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Branko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Branko on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Branko has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Case pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Branko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Case counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Davdio Branko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Case counters with a leg kick.
Branko dives in and grabs Case's left leg, looking for a takedown. Case pushes down on Branko's head and hops out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Davdio Branko has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Branko shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Branko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Case swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Branko looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
A punch combination from Case misses.
Branko half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Branko has a takedown stuffed.
Justin Case seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Case displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Branko.
Branko backing away here, and Case unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Case lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Branko dives in for a single leg takedown but Case sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Case is pressed up against the cage. Branko has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Case down to the mat. Case avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Branko drives through with a takedown into guard.
Case wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Branko is working hard here to advance position.
Branko is looking to pass into half guard but Case pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Case is in guard.

Branko will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Branko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Case defends well.
Case must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Case trying to stand up but can't free himself from Branko's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Branko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Case doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Case manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Case stopping the sweep attempt from Branko.

Case stands up from Branko's guard - Case perhaps looking for a knockout.
Branko walks into a left hand.
Branko on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Case enables Branko to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Case manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Branko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Case is keeping the position for now.

Branko is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Case is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Case has escaped and now he's on top!

My spies in Brooklyn Mixed Martial Arts inform me that Case has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Branko looking for a guillotine here but Case defends easily.

Branko looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Case has picked Branko up and slammed him! Branko can't keep hold of the triangle and Case manages to pass to side control!
Branko tries to improve position but can't.
Branko sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Branko looking for subs from the bottom but Case mounts him!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Justin Case dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Davdio Branko's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!

Case turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Branko shoots in looking for a takedown. Case tries to sprawl out of it but Branko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Case manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Case throws a shot from downtown. Branko moves away and avoids it.
Branko doesn't manage to clinch there - Case circles away.
Case looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Case pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Branko closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Branko is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Branko is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Branko extends the arm and Case is forced to tap!
