And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan David Franco!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco misses with a jab, cross combination.
Franco throws a hook but Maverick avoids it easily.
Maverick attempts a counter takedown but Franco avoids it well and moves away.
Franco feints a jab promting Maverick to slip. Franco then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Maverick slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Maverick fails to land the takedown.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Franco connects with a solid leg kick.
A jab from Franco misses.
Franco takes a swing at Maverick's ribcage but misses.
Maverick changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Franco throws a leg kick which misses Maverick's front leg but catches the back leg as Maverick tries to avoid it.
Maverick fails in his attempt to clinch.
Maverick gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Franco slaps away a takedown attempt from Maverick, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Franco appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Maverick uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Franco.
Maverick tries to score a power double leg takedown but Franco sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maverick somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dennis Maverick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Franco connects with a body shot that sends Maverick's belly button to the back.

A nice inside leg kick there by Franco. That's going to slow Maverick down.
Franco lands with a nice body punch.
Franco keeps the fight on the outside.
Maverick chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Franco can pounce on him.
Maverick is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Franco throws out a powerful jab.

It looks like Dennis Maverick has been cut.
Maverick moves in looking to clinch but Franco pushes him off.
Franco lands a glancing blow to the side of Maverick's head.
Maverick pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Maverick is breathing heavily.
Maverick takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Franco with a nice cross.
The fighters circle momentarily. Franco darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Franco counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Juan David Franco is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Franco lands a nice shot to the body.
Maverick tries to clinch but Franco moves out of range.

Franco scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Maverick doesn't seem bothered though.
Maverick takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Franco connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Maverick momentarily.
Franco works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
A cross from Franco lands.
Franco works Maverick's body with a nice hook.
Franco fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Maverick on the side of the head.

Maverick is rocked!
Franco darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Maverick's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Franco before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
