Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hanzo Hattori (ranked 3358 p4p, 3410 weight class) and Jonny Seens (ranked 452 p4p, 459 weight class). Hattori comes to the cage accompanied by Red Warrior. Seens comes into a darkened arena with his song building. SexyBack kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonny Seens!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hattori slips under a jab.
Nice takedown defense from Hattori. No joy for Seens on that attempt.
Hattori looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Seens clobbers Hattori with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Seens stalks Hattori and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hattori's face. Hattori staggers backwards, shaken.
Hattori takes one to the chin there.

Seens decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Seens is looking to take a break and control but Hattori is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hattori wants to get back to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Seens is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hattori works his way to full guard. Good work.
Seens working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Hattori pulls Seens in to control the position.
Seens preventing the sweep.
Seens has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hattori is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Seens wants to get back to his feet.

Hattori continues to stall.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Seens connects with the punch.
Seens shoots in for a takedown but Hattori shows good takedown defense.
Seens just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromHattori.

Seens shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hattori's guard.
Hattori has Seens pulled in close to control his posture.
Hattori controls Seens momentarily but Seens frees himself.
My spies in Handsome Guys Gym inform me that Seens has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Hattori wants to sweep but no luck.
Hattori keeping moving, preventing Seens from controlling successfully.

Seens drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Seens jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hattori is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Seens.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Seens shoots in looking for a takedown but Hattori manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Seens's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hattori stuffs the takedown.
Seens shoots in but Hattori avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jonny Seens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Seens looks to land a left hand but Hattori moved out of range nicely.
A big left from Seens misses.
We've been told by Hattori's head coaches at Takeda Clan Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Hattori is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Seens.

Seens darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hattori has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Seens is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Seens is looking for a kimura but Hattori is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Seens to get the leverage.
Hattori is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Seens's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Seens's back!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Seens is trying to shake Hattori off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Hattori won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Seens shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Seens fails with the takedown
and Hattori counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Hattori looks at the referee who does nothing so Hattori lands a crushing right that sends Seens to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
