Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Lowe (ranked 529 p4p, 426 weight class) and Dick Pawlik (ranked 65 p4p, 56 weight class). Pawlik is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by John Butler - Ocean . Dick Pawlik has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Lowe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Dick Pawlik!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lowe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pawlik was well out of range. Poor timing from Lowe.
Pawlik throws the left hand but Lowe avoids the punch easily.
Lowe misses with a hook. Pawlik ducked under it nicely.
Pawlik circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pawlik takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Lowe throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pawlik.
Nice cross by Pawlik.
Lowe cracks Pawlik with an open hand slap.
Lowe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mike Lowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pawlik lands a head shot.
Pawlik ducks under a wild hook from Lowe.
Pawlik misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lowe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Lowe fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Lowe fails to land with a series of punches.
Lowe throws a sloppy head kick and Pawlik moves out of range easily.
Pawlik misses with a takedown
and Lowe counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Lowe doesn't manage to clinch there - Pawlik circles away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pawlik.

Lowe tries to bench press Pawlik off him but Pawlik keeps the position.

Pawlik working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Pawlik is trying to get an arm triangle but Lowe is defending well.

Pawlik just content to control the position.
Lowe tries to improve position but can't.
Pawlik lands a nice forearm strike.

Pawlik is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lowe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pawlik is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lowe defends it well.
Lowe is looking for a sweep. Pawlik is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lowe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pawlik is working away from the top position though.
Lowe moves into full guard.
Lowe is pulling down on Pawlik's head to control his posture.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dick Pawlik will probably get the nod.
That's time! Lowe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Pawlik with the counter takedown but Lowe avoids it easily.
Lowe takes a swing at Pawlik's ribcage but misses.

so Pawlik counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lowe keeping moving, preventing Pawlik from controlling successfully.
Pawlik lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Pawlik is in close to Lowe's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pawlik with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Lowe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pawlik's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lowe is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Pawlik pushes a forearm under Lowe's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Lowe is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

A very excited looking Dick Pawlik made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Mike Lowe spoke after the fight, saying 'Sorry for the loss. I will get back into the gym and come back stronger. I wish luck to Fu Tu in his future bouts.'.
