The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lovanov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Faraday's guard.
Faraday wants to sweep but no luck.
Lovanov missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Lovanov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Faraday has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Lovanov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Faraday is trying to defend but Lovanov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
