Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Davdio Branko (ranked 1056 p4p, 1835 weight class) and Mikey Day (ranked 57 p4p, 95 weight class). Mikey Day is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Davdio Branko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mikey Day!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Day.
Day throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Branko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Branko.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Day holds on and takes a little breather.
Branko tries to free his leg and advance position but Day is retaining full guard.
Day looking for a sweep. Not yet Day, not yet.
Branko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Day swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Day wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Day is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Branko has gone for a leg lock! Day slips out almost immediately though and dives into Branko's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Branko looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Branko looking for a guillotine here but Day defends easily.
We've been hearing good reports from Branko's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Day avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Day engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Branko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Day controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Branko has an active guard here but Day has managed to pass into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Branko wants to improve his position but Day is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Day keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Well, if Day is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Branko is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Day jumps into side control!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Day advances to full mount.
Branko is trying to escape the mount.
Day controlling the pace for now.
Branko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Branko takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Branko is looking to get to half guard.
Day sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Branko sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mikey Day will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Branko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Day pinned against the cage. Day gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Branko is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like Davdio Branko has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Branko is defended easily by Day.
Day misses with a body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Some wild striking there from Day.
Branko tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Day defends well and Branko ends up having to push Day into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Day feints the counter takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Davdio Branko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Day lands with a light punch inside.
Day lands a hook to the side of the head.
Day throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Brankos head.
Day lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Day scores with a shoulder strike.
Branko is trying to drag Day to the mat but Day just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Branko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Day creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Branko is working for takedown but Day is calmly controlling the position for now.
Branko is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Day is defending well.
Branko tries for a takedown. No joy.
Branko has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Day is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Day lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Branko is looking to take this one to the mat.
Day lands with a left to the head.
Branko goes for a takedown attempt but Day pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Branko takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Branko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Day as he avoids it easily.
Day scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Branko doesn't seem bothered though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Day throws a right and a left that both miss.
Day plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Day cracks a nice hook into Branko's ribs.

Branko scores with a takedown into Day's guard.
Day controlling Branko's posture.
Day is continuing to stall.
Branko won't allow Day to sweep him here.
Branko is looking to advance position but Day has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Day has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Day cracks Branko with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Day punishing his opponent with strikes.
Day controlling his opponent.
Let's hope that Day has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Day prevents Branko from getting the reversal.
Day takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Branko is desperately trying to improve his position but Day has a good base and remains in mount.

Day looking to control and managing it successfully.
Day tries to control but Branko wriggling away.
Branko bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Mikey Day showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Day throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Day tests Branko's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nice sprawl there from Day as Branko shoots in.
Branko on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Branko darts in looking for a takedown but Day gets double underhooks and turns Branko into the cage.

Mikey Day seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Branko drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Day lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Branko or not.

Branko wants to take the fight to the mat but Day manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Day makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Day lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Branko backwards.
Day lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Day lands a hook to the side of the head.
Day scores with a shot to the side of Branko's head.

Branko jumps guard and drags Day to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Branko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Day slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Branko can't keep his opponent in guard - Day advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Day works his way into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Day lands an elbow.
Branko gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Branko trying to get back to full guard but Day takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Branko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Day content just to control the position here.

Branko can't escape the position.
Day trying to control but Branko is having none of it.
Day prevents Branko from getting the reversal.

Day unloading with bombs!

Day postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Branko looks a forlorn figure.

Mikey Day has got the better of the ground game so far.

Day jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Branko is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Branko and Day has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Branko is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Day gets to mount! Branko was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Davdio Branko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mikey Day comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Day has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
