Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charley Hanagan (ranked 107 p4p, 171 weight class) and Jean-Claude Marceau (ranked 19 p4p, 29 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hanagan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Harley Flanagan - Guilty Until Proven Innocent. Marceau comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Feist - Tout Doucement kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Hanagan misses with a takedown
and Marceau counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Marceau throws a sloppy head kick and Hanagan moves out of range easily.
Hanagan takes a swing at Marceau's ribcage but misses.
Hanagan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marceau sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Hanagan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marceau is fending him off so far but Hanagan persists. Nope, Marceau circles away and we're back to standing.
Hanagan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Marceau has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Oh Hanagan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A head kick by Marceau - that's a beauty! Hanagan is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Marceau can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jean-Claude Marceau!
After winning the bout, Jean-Claude Marceau thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Charley Hanagan was interviewed post fight and said 'HOLY SHIT MAKE THE VOICES FUCKING GO AWAY!!!'.
