Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marc Horton (ranked 1923 p4p, 3162 weight class) and Menes Kai (ranked 194 p4p, 268 weight class). Kai is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Astronaut - Jin. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marc Horton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Menes Kai! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A clash of legs there as Kai blocks the low kick. A little jabbing left from Kai on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Horton checks the leg kick nicely there.
Kai looks to land a left hand but Horton moved out of range nicely. Horton drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kai sprawls and moves away. Horton lands with a kick to the ribs.
Kai misses with a wild body shot. Kai has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Kai misses with a series of wild punches.
Kai lands a head kick. Horton smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Kai misses with a looping left. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horton moves out of range of the body kick. Kai does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Horton changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Horton seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Horton is looking to slow Kai down with leg kicks. Horton scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
 That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd cheers as Kai lands an impressive looking overhand right. Horton doesn't seem phased though. Horton has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kai. Kai throws a body shot but no joy. Kai displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Horton throws out the jab. Horton buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Horton throws an elbow but Kai slips to the side and avoids it well. Kai is trying to buck Horton off. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ground and pound from Horton seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Kai is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Horton is controlling him well. Horton looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kai is avoiding damage well.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yama's jab looks to have found its range, popping King under the eye. A shot to the liver by King. Beautiful body shot. Yama keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Yama throws a body punch but King moves out of range.

King has been working on his balance at Ragnarok\'s Gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Yama. King is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. King lands with a short shot to the head. King lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Yama slowing the pace effectively. Yama has King pressed against the cage.
The crowd are getting on Yama's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Can King avoid being mounted? King is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. King is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Yama's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Yama's back! Yama tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! The referee warns Yama that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Yama is rocked! King breaks from Yama's wrist control and lands an elbow. Yama is still in real trouble! Can King finish him? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! King postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Yama in real trouble here! The ref calls for Yama to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

A lazy body kick from Carter and Char counters with a good low kick that Carter was not able to check. Carter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Carter seems to have recovered his senses. Carter misses with a kick to the body and Char counters with a nice uppercut. Char scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Carter doesn't seem bothered though. Carter lands a jab. Char lands with an overhand left. Carter takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Char fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Carter to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Carter looks to clinch but Char throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Carter taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kaven May Jr. Well I reckon that's a shut out for May Jr, winning every round. Will the judges agree?  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jack SpeedGod misses with a hook. A little feinted left hand from Jones on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Jack SpeedGod slips a straight right by Jones. Jones looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Jack SpeedGod throws a jab but it's blocked by Jones. Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jack SpeedGod moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. A decent looking cross lands there for Jones. The crowd cheers as Jack SpeedGod lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jones doesn't seem phased though. Jones takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Jack SpeedGod gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Jokinen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hooez's guard. Jokinen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hooez looking to control.
Jokinen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hooez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jokinen is looking to work some ground and pound but Hooez has wrist control. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hooez holds on and takes a little breather. Jokinen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jokinen lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Hooez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jokinen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Clarence Boston! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vitor Mesquita! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Steve Smith.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mesquita moves away from the strike by Boston. Mesquita looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Boston misses with a looping right. Mesquita changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Boston throws a right hand that misses
and Mesquita counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Mesquita pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. An attempted straight right counter from Boston misses the target. Mesquita avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Mesquita thuds his right hand into Boston's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Mesquita swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boston takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Mesquita feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bostons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Mesquita moves forwards but Boston connects with a nice, crisp jab.

and Mesquita counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Mesquita is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boston. Boston gets control of Mesquita's arms and successfully pulls guard. Boston will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Mesquita forces his way into half guard.
