Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulie Soprano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Brody MacDonald! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MacDonald with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Soprano to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Brody MacDonald has been cut. MacDonald lands with an uppercut that bounces Soprano off the cage and back into range. MacDonald wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Soprano staying out of range there. Soprano appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Soprano misses the body punch enabling MacDonald to counter with a crisp jab. Soprano takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Soprano avoids a lazy jab quite easily. MacDonald throws a lazy uppercut
and Soprano counters with a lovely straight right hand! Soprano looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Soprano showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from MacDonald.

And Soprano counters with a quick kick to the body but MacDonald blocks it. MacDonald throws a good cross that connects.

MacDonald throws a looping overhand right but Soprano ducks down to avoid it. Soprano attempts a counter takedown but MacDonald avoids it well and moves away. Soprano ducks under a wild hook from MacDonald. MacDonald misses with a wild body shot. Soprano half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Soprano uses good head movement to avoid the hook from MacDonald. Soprano attempts a counter takedown but MacDonald avoids it well and moves away. A big left from MacDonald misses. A little feinted left hand from Soprano on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Soprano misses with a right hand and MacDonald cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. It looked like Soprano was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from MacDonald. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Taylor throws out the jab. Riker missing with a left hand there. Taylor was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Riker slips under a jab. Riker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Taylor fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Riker looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Nice jab there from Taylor. Taylor ducks under a wild hook from Riker.  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bottles misses with a double jab
and Askren counters with a nice double leg into guard. Askren slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Bottles looking for a sweep. Not yet Bottles, not yet. Askren is fighting to break Bottles's control of his arms but Bottles is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Askren has gone for a leg lock! Bottles slips out almost immediately though and dives into Askren's guard.
 Askren might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bottles throws a strike but Askren rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
 We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Askren being controlled here momentarily. Askren is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Shut Up & Train! that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Askren looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Bottles is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Askren trying to control the position from guard on top but Bottles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bottles is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bottles controls Askren momentarily but Askren frees himself. Bottles wants to sweep but no luck. Bottles utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Askren is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Bottles manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Askren manages to get himself to full guard.

Bottles tries to free his leg and advance position but Askren is retaining full guard.

 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bottles swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Bottles looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bottles wants to get back to his feet but Askren is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Bottles has Askren pulled in close to control his posture. Our spies down at at Xtreme Fighting Gym inform us that Bottles has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Askren looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Askren seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bottles for as long as he can get away with. Askren wants to control from the top but Bottles keeps moving.

Askren turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Askren controls the position. Askren has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Bottles! Askren scoring with strikes but Bottles is staying in there. Bottles tries to hold on but Askren postures up. Askren working away from the top, dropping strikes.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Askren is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bottles is surviving well by controlling Askren's body position as best he can.
Askren is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bottles can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
You get the feeling that Bottles really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Bottles tries to hold on but Askren pushes him away. Askren controlling from the full mount. Askren wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Askren controlling from mount.
Askren with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Bottles throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Askren's head. Bottles is looking to clinch but Askren is avoiding it.

Bottles manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Askren keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Bottles prevents the takedown attempt.
Bottles tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Askren avoids it. Bottles goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Askren has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Bottles regains guard immediately. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Askren wants to control from the top but Bottles keeps moving. Askren stays in close to Bottles's body and controls the position.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Bottles looking to hit a scissor sweep but Askren is one step ahead there. Bottles working a defensive guard here.

and Askren decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bottles's guard. Bottles wants to stand up but Askren is controlling him.
Askren postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bottles is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Askren, into his guard.
 Henny Bottles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Bottles trying to control but Askren is working from the bottom. Bottles throws a strike but Askren rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Bottles wants to stand up but Askren is controlling him.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Askren swats away the attempt to clinch by Bottles. Askren keeps the fight on the outside.
Bottles drives through and clinches with Askren against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bottles with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Askren tries for a takedown but Bottles manages to get underhooks.
Bottles throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Askren blocks it with crossed arms.
Askren has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bottles is trying to keep an underhook but Askren manages to get the takedown into half guard.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alaska connects with a body shot that sends Coloradas's belly button to the back. Coloradas throws out a powerful jab. Coloradas throws a jab when Alaska was well out of range. A jab from Coloradas finds it's way through Alaska's defenses. Alaska takes a jab right on the kisser.
Coloradas shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Coloradas has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Alaska looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Mangas Coloradas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A low kick from Meine is predictable there and Meine takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Bandit gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Meine stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bandit. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Meine takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Meine seems to have recovered his senses. This has been an exciting period of action! Meine fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Meine keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Meine! But no joy. Bandit uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Meine. Bandit loads up on a big right hand but Meine slips the punch. Meine throws a wild body kick that Bandit sees coming a mile off. Bandit looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Meine lands with a light punch inside. Bandit is pushing Meine up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

With a record of 30 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ubaldo Cortez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rhashaun Kinkead! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A clash of legs there as Cortez blocks the low kick. Kinkead on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Cortez avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Kinkead takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Cortez slips under a jab from Kinkead. Cortez misses with a straight right. Kinkead with a lazy takedown attempt and Cortez counters with a low kick, right behind Kinkead 's knee. Kinkead swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cortez was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Cortez tests Kinkead's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kinkead lands a nice shot to the body.
Cortez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kinkead swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ubaldo Cortez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kinkead throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cortez. Kinkead gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Cortez. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cortez is looking to clinch. Cortez wants to land a leg kick but Kinkead is out of range. A big left from Cortez misses. The fighters circle momentarily. Cortez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Cortez is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kinkead is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Cortez to the mat. Cortez regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Kinkead prevents Cortez from getting back to his feet. Cortez pulls Kinkead in close to prevent any damage. Kinkead sitting in guard here, content to control. Kinkead trying to control the position from guard on top but Cortez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cortez wants to sweep but no luck.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kinkead seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Kinkead forces his way into half guard.
Kinkead is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cortez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kinkead. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Cortez tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Kinkead manages to move to mount!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Doherty throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Doherty lands a big head kick that sends Francis tumbling to the mat! Doherty takes a step backwards and waves Francis back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Roman Francis has been cut. Doherty wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Francis pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Doherty is looking to counter punch. Doherty misses the jab. It seemed like Francis was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Doherty has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Francis. We've been told by Doherty's head coaches at Vancouver Island Fight Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Francis drops his hands momentarily and Doherty takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Nice jab there from Francis.
It looks like Cathal Doherty has been cut. Francis avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Francis slips under a jab from Doherty. Doherty takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Doherty swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A punch lands to the side of Francis 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That has opened up Roman Francis's cut even more. Francis misses the shot to the body. Francis slips a straight right by Doherty. Doherty is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Francis. Doherty pulls out of a head kick attempt.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Francis goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Francis lands a jab to Doherty's midsection. Doherty throws a nice looking combination but Francis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Francis connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Doherty looks to land a right hand but Francis moved out of range. Francis misses with a hook
and Doherty counters with a straight right hand. Francis thuds his right hand into Doherty's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Francis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Doherty looks to land a left hand but Francis moved out of range nicely. Francis is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Francis goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Nice uppercut lands for Doherty. That snapped Francis's head back.
The cut above Roman Francis's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Francis steps in with a hook that catches Doherty right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Francis follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Doherty looks absolutely devastated.
