Undercard bout

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zavian Barkley (ranked 1047 p4p, 1547 weight class) and Dean Gaines (ranked 145 p4p, 209 weight class). Dean Gaines told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barkley just misses with a punch to the body.
Gaines ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Barkley uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gaines.
Barkley throws a quick counter kick to the body but Gaines avoids it.
Gaines looks to land a body kick but Barkley moved away.
Barkley blocks a jab.
Barkley swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Barkley moves into range and clinches up with Gaines.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gaines lands a hook that snaps the head of Barkley backwards.
Barkley pushes off an throws an elbow but Gaines leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Blue has chosen HonestKey- When I Wake Up as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

It looked like Mesquita was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Blue.

Blue throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mesquita sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Luan Mesquita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
