The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nastula takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Nice jab there from McWrestler.
Nastula shoots in for a takedown but McWrestler shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nastula takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and McWrestler counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Nastula knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McWrestler on the ground.

McWrestler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nastula with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nastula tries to get to full guard but McWrestler has control of the leg.

McWrestler scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Nastula is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and McWrestler can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Kandle tries to clinch but Lalla is having none of it.
Lalla keeps the fight on the outside.
Lalla throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Kandle tries to sprawl but Lalla drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lalla in particular looking to stall.
We've been hearing good reports from Lalla's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Lalla is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kandle doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lalla.
Kandle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lalla. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lalla in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kandle tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Lalla!

Jaro Lalla decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Wong's coaches at Special Ops N7 Training have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Amosov decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Amosov closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Wong out cold! Wong corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

Maica shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

A decent looking cross lands there for Sam.
Maica takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Maica gets caught napping as Sam dives in and scores a takedown. Maica manages to retain guard.

Maica has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Sam is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Maica is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sam is trying to trip Maica. He has hold of a leg but Maica is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sam persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

It looks like Sam might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Sam has hold of Maica's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Maica seems comfortable defending it but Sam has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Maica is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Maica is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sam couldn't care less - he's delighted!

A less than humble Sambo Sam misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
