The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Phoenix with that takedown attempt.
As Phoenix looks to move away, Stokes throws a big counter combo but Phoenix just gets out of the way.

Stokes looking to score a takedown here. Phoenix is defending well but Stokes drives through and ends up in Phoenix's guard.

Stokes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Phoenix swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stokes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Stokes gets to his feet - Phoenix follows without any prompting.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pittman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pittman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rockford is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rockford has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pittman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rockford doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rockford manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pittman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rockford gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rockford winds up and cracks Pittman with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rockford content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Rockford throwing shots but Pittman is blocking nicely.

Rockford working over Pittman with some ground and pound. Pittman looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Pittman is doing well to control the position and prevent Rockford from advancing to side control.
Rockford is stalling here. Pittman is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rockford seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pittman has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Rockford gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Pittman prevents Rockford from getting the reversal.

Rockford wants to hold on but Pittman pushes him away.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Grover Pittman.

Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Beretta looks for a takedown but Test sprawls well.
Test is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Test drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Test pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Beretta is keeping the position for now.
Test sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Beretta not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Beretta is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Test is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Beretta can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Test controls the pace.

Learning Test comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Test has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
