The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ibragim Ibragimov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alexander rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ibragimov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ibragimov defending well as Alexander loads up on a big left hand.
Alexander throws out a loose jab but Ibragimov uses good head movement to avoid it.

Ibragimov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ibragimov lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Alexander! More strikes land and this one is all over! Ibragimov jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

After the fight, Ibragim Ibragimov was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

and Thorgard counters with a big uppercut that knocks Hulk off his feet! Thorgard dives into side control looking to finish!
It looks like Iranian Hulk has been cut.
Thorgard is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hulk will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Hulk has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Thorgard doesn't defend quickly enough and Hulk has managed to lock this one up! Can Thorgard escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hulk on a fantastic submission victory.

Sykov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rogers's half guard.

Sykov winds up and cracks Rogers with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rogers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sykov on the ground.

Sykov is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Rogers is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Nilsson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Romero counters with a crisp right hand that drops Nilsson! Romero lets Nilsson back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Nilsson is rocked!
It looks like Johan Nilsson has been cut.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nilsson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nilsson shoots in but no luck this time.
Nilsson is still on wobbly legs! Can Romero finish him?
Romero definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nilsson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Romero tries to avoid it but Nilsson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Romero to the ground. Romero escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nilsson seems to have recovered his senses.
Vito Romero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johan Nilsson.
Romero circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Nilsson tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Romero wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vito Romero!
Vito Romero retains his light heavyweight title!
Vito Romero looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'Bringing this belt back to my family, going to let my kids play with it. At least they know how to share.'.
