That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Scherer crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Vuori - the referee stops the clock and Scherer gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Vuori. Scherer manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Scherer has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Scherer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vuori finds it's way round the side to connect with Scherer's head.
Vuori throws a right hand that Scherer ducks under and follows up with a left that Scherer also avoids with ease.
Scherer flicks out a counter leg kick but Vuori steps away.

Scherer shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Vuori keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Scherer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Vuori throws a quick counter head kick but Scherer was just out of range.

Vuori scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Scherer to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Scherer ducks into a a hook from Vuori and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!

Scherer walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Vuori rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Scherer has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.
Vuori throws a looping overhand right but Scherer ducks down to avoid it.
Vuori connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Scherer's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Scherer - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!

No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!

Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Gauthier St. Georges (ranked 495 p4p, 80 weight class) and Shakhbulat Shamkhalaev (ranked 1266 p4p, 179 weight class). St. Georges comes to the ring accompanied by Jiu Jitsu. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
