That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Wright takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Wright looks to land a right hand but Power moved out of range.
Power lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Power tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Power getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Wright throws a push kick but Power slaps the foot to one side.
Power looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Power pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wright flicks out a counter leg kick but Power steps away.
Power has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Power there as he acknowledges the shot.
Power shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Power.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wright throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Power lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Power ducks under a wild hook from Wright.
Power thinks about countering with a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Power throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wright on the side of the head.

Power takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Geordie Power has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wright throws a series of strikes that have Power backpedaling.
Power looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Wright throws the left hand but Power avoids the punch easily.
Power throws a shot from downtown. Wright moves away and avoids it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wright looks to score with a jab to the body but Power is just out of range.

A cross from Power lands.

and Power counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Power lands a big head kick that sends Wright tumbling to the mat! Power takes a step backwards and waves Wright back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Wright is rocked!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Power fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Wright square on the jaw! Damn, Wright is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 5, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Geordie Power!
Geordie Power retains his light heavyweight title!
In his post fight interview, Geordie Power started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
