The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wuzz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Laoka as he jumps to the side.
Wuzz misses with an uppercut
and Laoka counters with a stiff right hand.
Wuzz drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Laoka rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wuzz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A looping hook to the body misses from Wuzz. Laoka does a little dance to reset his feet.
Laoka throws a low kick but Wuzz moves out of range easily.
Laoka misses with a kick to the body.
Wuzz connects with a good right hand that stumbles Laoka. Laoka circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

We've been hearing good reports from Wuzz's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David Wuzz.

I was talking to Boma's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
