This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takaziko glances at the clock... BAM! Irrozios nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Takaziko crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Takaziko is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Pony avoids the head kick by Goose .
Pony appears to be looking for a big counter.
Goose rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Pony counters with a good, hard body kick but Goose shrugs it off.
Goose throws a sloppy head kick and Pony moves out of range easily.
Pony quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

and Rua counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Turturro darts in and clinches Rua up against the cage.

Rua is fighting off a takedown attempt but Turturro is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rua to the mat. Rua regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Rua uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Turturro or perhaps it was just good defense by Rua, which made it look bad.

Turturro lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Turturro drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Our winner, Jao Rua, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
