Allu throws a looping overhand right but Imbert ducks down to avoid it.
Allu thows a left - swing and a miss!
Imbert seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Allu moves away from the strike by Imbert.
Imbert lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Allu circles away quickly and effectively.

Imbert pushes Allu up against the cage in a clinch.
Imbert has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Imbert lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Allu drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Imbert gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Maltusuri tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Homelius wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Homelius is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Maltusuri will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sane misses with a takedown attempt
and Merlin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Merlin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Merlin.
Sane moves away from the strike by Merlin.
Sane ducks under a wild hook from Merlin.
Merlin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Merlin lands a jab to the nose.

so Sane counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Merlin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sane's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sane manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Merlin manages to get himself to full guard.

Sane is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Merlin is just riding it out for now. Sane eventually gives up the hold.

Sane is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Sane is looking for a kimura but Merlin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sane to get the leverage.

Merlin wants to control but Sane is keeping busy and won't allow it.
