Alvarez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Alvarez lunges at Sheedy with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sheedy's hand.

As Alvarez tries to get set, Sheedy tries to push him back and clinch up but Alvarez manages to avoid the attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sheedy is pawing at Alvarez, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Alvarez's nose. Alvarez is badly hurt! Sheedy pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Alvarez tries desperately to hold on but Sheedy is relentless in his assault! As Alvarez receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Sheedy away and this one is in the books!

Mayer moves into the clinch successfully.
Mayer has The Blitz pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. The Blitz manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The Blitz tightens his grip and picks Mayer up, before dumping him to the ground. Mayer manages to land in guard.

My spies in Lovelair Muay Thai/MMA inform me that The Blitz has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Mayer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. The Blitz defends it easily.
Mayer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mayer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but The Blitz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Mayer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Mayer goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, The Blitz has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mayer but great work by The Blitz.
The Blitz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mayer keeps working.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mayer tries to buck The Blitz off but The Blitz is having none of it.

The Blitz lands a big shot there that rocks Mayer but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The referee warns Mayer that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Mayer is squirming around, avoiding The Blitz's attempts to control the action.
Mayer manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mayer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The Blitz is pushing down on Mayer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mayer is fighting to maintain full guard but The Blitz has managed to sneak the leg through.
