2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Hughes! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ron Honeybunn and Skip Squint.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hughes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brawn clinches up against the cage. Hughes jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Brawn walks away with a smile on his face. Hughes gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Brawn ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Brawn no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Hughes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brawn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hughes for as long as he can get away with. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brawn has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hughes tries a quick counter leg kick but Brawn is wise to it. Brawn looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Brawn throws a right and a left that both miss.

Brawn shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brawn showed some decent athleticism there. Brawn is nestled in close to Hughes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Brawn looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Brawn working over Hughes with some ground and pound. Hughes looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Brawn takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Is there anything that Hughes can do to turn this around? Brawn lands with a punch from half guard. Brawn seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. This has been an exciting period of action! Brawn winds up and cracks Hughes with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Brawn is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Brawn working the head and body with strikes. Brawn performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Hughes won't allow Brawn to pass to mount. Brawn is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Brawn perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Brawn is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A nice elbow there by Brawn. Brawn working away from the top, dropping strikes. Brawn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Brawn with shots to the head and body - Hughes looks very uncomfortable down there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hughes takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Brawn controlling the position easily from mount. Brawn fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Brawn with a nice head shot there. Jack Hughes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reiner Brawn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hughes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brawn is one step ahead there. Brawn controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Reiner Brawn showed his dominance in that final round. Well Brawn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mace connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Mace waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kankunnen. Kankunnen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Mace swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kankunnen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mace won't be happy with that.
Mace bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Mace throws out a loose jab but Kankunnen uses good head movement to avoid it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mace lands an overhand right. Mace throws a good cross that connects.
 Kankunnen is rocked! Kankunnen looks for a takedown but Mace sprawls well. Oh Kankunnen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kankunnen drops his hands for a split second and Mace immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Kankunnen face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Mace follows up with a right hand that knocks Kankunnen into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Carioca throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dominguez was covering up waiting for the punch and Carioca finishes the takedown easily into guard. Carioca must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dominguez trying to keep a closed guard but Carioca is proving a slippery customer.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Red lands with an uppercut that bounces Metdida off the cage and back into range. No luck with that takedown attempt from Metdida. A head kick misses from Red. Red misses with a head kick.
Good shot there by Red. Nice takedown defense from Red. No joy for Metdida on that attempt. Metdida is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Metdida shoots in for a double leg but Red sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Metdida's coach down at Lock and Roll Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Metdida's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Gary Red has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lio Metdida. Red fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A right-left combo lands from Red. Metdida tries for a takedown but Red sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Metdida looks winded! Red defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Metdida. Red is looking for a counter combo.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Red throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A leg kick checked by Metdida. Metdida looks for a takedown but Red sprawls well. Red throws a one two combo.

Red motions for Metdida to come forward. Red throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Red moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Red stuffs the takedown attempt from Metdida. Metdida gets slowly back to his feet. As Metdida looks to move away, Red throws a big counter combo but Metdida just gets out of the way. Metdida walks into a left hand.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Red lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Red lands a two punch combo.
 Metdida is rocked! Red looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Red cracks Metdida with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Metdida falls to his knees and Red doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gary Red! Gary Red really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Phantom Fightwear logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Lugg with that takedown attempt. Nurmagabeeb appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Nurmagabeeb misses with a wild body shot. Lugg shoots in for a double leg but Nurmagabeeb sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nurmagabeeb throws out a counter right but Lugg avoids it with no problem.
Lugg throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nurmagabeeb was covering up waiting for the punch and Lugg finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lugg has gone for a leg lock! Nurmagabeeb slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lugg's guard.
 Nurmagabeeb must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Messer seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Knochmal lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Messer circles away quickly and effectively. Knochmal has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Messer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Knochmal throws out a loose jab but Messer uses good head movement to avoid it. Messer throws a hook to the side of Knochmal's head but Knochmal sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. We've been hearing good reports from Asznee's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills.
