The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Chris. Those never looked like landing.

Menger doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Runt counter with a right hand.

It looks like Carl Menger has been cut.
Menger fails with the takedown.
Menger takes one to the chin there.
Menger tries for a takedown but Runt circles away easily
enabling Runt to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carl Menger. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Menger moves to clinch but Runt breaks away
and Runt counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Runt waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Menger.
Menger shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Runt but Runt pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Menger takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
We've been informed that Runt has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Runt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Runt dips to his left and cracks Menger with an uppercut!
Menger bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Runt comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Menger falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Menger was out before he hit the floor!

After the fight, Chris Runt was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Jeffries throws out a powerful jab.
Boxer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jeffries has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Boxer is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Jeffries just misses with a punch to the body.
Boxer wants to clinch up but Jeffries keeps it at a distance.
Boxer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Boxer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
BOOM! Jeffries lands a beautiful left hook that drops Boxer. Boxer tries to recover but Jeffries is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Boxer lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Vandelay looks to throw the jab but Dux is out of range.
Dux shoots in looking for a takedown but Vandelay manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dux's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vandelay defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dux.

and Dux takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Art Vandelay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Dux.
Dux shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vandelay as he avoids it easily.

Vandelay throws the left hand but Dux avoids the punch easily.

and Vandelay counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Vandelay leaves Dux with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Vandelay stuns Dux with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Dux misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dux shoots in for a takedown but Vandelay shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Vandelay went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Vandelay has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Nice takedown defense from Vandelay. No joy for Dux on that attempt.

Dux is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vandelay's half guard.

Vandelay has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Dux is on him like a limpet, forcing Vandelay back against the cage.

The referee is keeping an eye on Vandelay - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Vandelay pushes Dux against the cage. Vandelay is working some dirty boxing. Vandelay pushes off with a quick right hook! Dux goes down! Dux tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Vandelay moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
