Smarks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hart tries to avoid it but Smarks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hart to the ground. Hart escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smarks dives in and grabs Hart's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hart pushes down on Smarks's head and hops out.
Hart looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Smarks shoots in for a double leg but Hart sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
John Hart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alvin Smarks.

Hart gets caught flat footed, as Smarks shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
