Materson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Materson manages to end up in side control.
Materson wants to control but Dime is keeping him busy.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Cue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Thor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Thor's choice of entrance music: Boom - P.O.D. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Thor fakes the leg kick and cracks Cue in the body.
Thor scores with a sloppy right hand. Cue should have avoided that one.
A bone on bone clash there as Thor blocks the leg kick.

Cue instigates a clinch.
Thor misses with a body punch.
Nice body punch from Cue - that landed with a thud.
Cue gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Thor.
Cue blocks the elbow strike.
Cue scores with a hook to the body.
A right hook to the body lands for Cue.

Cue manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Thor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cue lands a lovely overhand right.
Cue keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cue checks a leg kick.

Thor is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cue.

Cue uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Thor has time to react.
Cue throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Thor stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

John Cue seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cue shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Thor takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Cue sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Thor bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

John Cue decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Deurell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Deurell might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Africa. Lashley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hustlin kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

A left and a right from Lashley both land. Nice combination.
Deurell lands with a nice combination. Lashley backs away looking to recover.
Lashley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Deurell goes for a double leg but Lashley avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lashley continues to drive forward.

Deurell closes the distance and pushes Lashley back into the cage.

Lashley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Deurell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves shoots in for a double leg but James sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
James swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alves appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Alves .
James takes a swing at Alves 's ribcage but misses.
James turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

James avoids a kick to the body.
Alves lands with a hook. James tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
James takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

James gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Alves points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. James wakes up just in time to hear Alves thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
