 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valor scores with a jab to the jaw. Valor misses with a lunging right hand
and Grande counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Grande lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Valor avoids the elbow strike from Grande, against the cage.
Grande working some nice short punches in the clinch. Valor blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Grande with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

We've been informed that Grande has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Valor blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Valor has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Grande looking to throw knees to the head but Valor is blocking nicely.

Valor cracks Grande with a good jab. Grande drops his hands momentarily and Valor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jab from Grande.

Valor throws a hook to the side of Grande's head but Grande sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Grande takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Grande tries to clinch there but Valor circles away.

Grande pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!  We're going to have a standup here because Eagles Giants wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. A jab from Giants does it's job there. James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Giants tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Giants to the ground. Giants escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A jab from Giants misses.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Alex James dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Giants to score with a decent uppercut. James's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Giants lands a front kick. Giants lands a high kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Giants throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Giants stuffs the takedown attempt from James. James gets slowly back to his feet. Good leg kick by Giants there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. James sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Giants scores with a push kick. James misses with a takedown and Giants counters with a straight punch to the midsection. James tries for a takedown but Giants sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Giants throws a leg kick which misses James's front leg but catches the back leg as James tries to avoid it. Giants connects with the punch.
 James is rocked! Giants throws an uppercut from hell that sends James clean off his feet! He's out cold! Giants stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Maiden has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Daniels tries to clinch but Chambers moves out of range. Daniels attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Chambers avoids a kick to the body.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sixteen looks to score with a jab to the body but The Impaler is just out of range. Sixteen moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Sixteen misses with a takedown attempt and The Impaler counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. The Impaler misses with a kick to the body.
