Recksun lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Omar circles away quickly and effectively.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khasm fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Malek looks to land a combination. Khasm sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

It looks like Kevin Khasm has been cut.
Khasm shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Khasm misses with a takedown

and Malek counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Khasm. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Khasm tries to circle away but Malek has him pinned against the cage.
Malek misses with a hook to the ribs.
Malek lands a left hand that snaps the head of Khasm backwards.
Malek lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Malek breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Khasm throws a looping overhand right but Malek ducks down to avoid it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Khasm needs to keep his hands up - Malek had a free shot at his head there.
Malek throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Khasm crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
