Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tom Vasel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasel comes into the arena with Battle of the Mounds-Basil Poledouris blaring out of the sound system. Mendez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Big Pun-Dream Shatterer. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Vasel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mendez with a poor takedown
and Vasel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Vasel ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

and Vasel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Vasel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

A left and a right from Vasel both land. Nice combination.
The crowd cheers as Vasel lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mendez doesn't seem phased though.
Vasel cracks Mendez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Vasel throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mendez on the side of the head.
Vasel is pawing at Mendez, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Mendez's nose. Mendez is badly hurt! Vasel pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Mendez tries desperately to hold on but Vasel is relentless in his assault! As Mendez receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Vasel away and this one is in the books!

Makuto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gunnarsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
