LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Tacitus Kilgore vs Zee Land
# 6 LW Tacitus Kilgore (33-13-0) puts his title on the line at Combate 167 against # 10 LW Zee Land (22-7-0). Kilgore's a pressure fighting specialist who is relentless from start to finish, but he's facing a crafty long-limbed black belt in Jiu-Jitsu in Zee Land, that has 10 submission victories on his resume. Kilgore has 4 sub losses but hasn't been tapped out since 11-17-2021 but his last couple bouts have been against the questionable competition under the SYN banner in a Yankee infested country.
HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Barron White vs Iago Farfan
#12 HW Barron White (24-8-1) defends his title at Combate 168 against #7 HW "The Parrot" Iago Farfan (12-3-0). After White won the SYN title against Leif Leifsson back at SYN's ironically named The Last Shooting Star II event, he suffered a two fight skid losing the belt to Kilo Maluga and then submitting to strikes against Kjetil Olsen. White just hasn't looked the same in his last two outings and his camp is citing SYN's more intrusive drug testing policy as a reason. Iago Farfan is looking to ruin Barron White's welcome back party at Combate, and he appears geared up to prove to the rest of the Heavyweight division that he is a force to be reckoned with.
WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Raate Road vs Kaki Mountain
#1 WW Raate Road (28-4-1) faces off against #2 WW Kaki Mountain (23-11-0) in a Combate superfight that features the #2 P4P fighter (Road) fighting #13 P4P (Mountain) in a matchup that's guaranteed to blow the roof off of the Sydney Superdome at Combate 169. Road is the reigning Combate welterweight champion that has been busy cementing his P4P ranking as one of the best fighters on the planet by beating Joe "The Real Tiger King" Exotic (24-10-1) for the SYN middleweight title with a spanking so nice that he had to do it twice in back-to-back fights. Mountain is riding high after a dominant victory against SYN welterweight champion Mario Benedetti and SMASH welterweight champion Jimmy Lee. The two top welterweights in the world clash at Combate 169 to establish the #1 fighter in the division.
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Valentin Taneyev vs Mantak Garuda
#2 LHW Valentin "The Hand Grenade" Taneyev (31-14-1) duels #5 LHW "Hands of Shiva" Mantak Garuda (40-13-1) in Co-Main Event of Combate 169. Garuda recently remained undefeated under the Combate banner by becoming the first fighter to ever knock out Combate legend "The Pitbull" Mohammed Kahn (29-9-1). Taneyev is coming off a knockout of the night performance over Tristan St. Gough (14-7-0), and is riding a 4-fight win streak with all his wins coming by way of knockout or stoppage. We can only hope that these men are capable of recovering from the CTE they're about to induce to one another in a fight that features two of the hardest hitters in the entire division.
