Roux half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.#TD2# Mitler shoots in and gets a takedown into Roux's guard. Mitler must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#SUB# Roux looking for a guillotine here but Mitler defends easily.

We've been informed that Mitler has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Mitler lands with a kick to the temple. Roux shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Roux. Mitler misses with a head kick.

Miele slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Salvacion is trying to keep Miele in close.
Salvacion working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Miele. Miele with a flurry of punches that miss. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miele with a nice head shot there. Miele keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Salvacion's head. Miele is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. #T1# Miele has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Miele chips away with some ground and pound. Miele passes easily into side control. Nice work. Miele has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Miele remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. #T2# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Miele seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Salvacion for as long as he can get away with. Miele scores with a couple of short elbows. Salvacion on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Salvacion gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! #SUB# Salvacion has left one of his arms exposed and Miele doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Salvacion screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bean has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Madera tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Villa paws at him with a jab and circles away.#CL# Villa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A right hand to the body from Villa.
Villa lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. #BC# Villa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Villa digs a good hook to Madera's body.
Villa throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Madera dodges the punch combination from Villa.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Villa lands a head shot. Villa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Villa lands with a nice combination. Madera backs away looking to recover. Jensen Villa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Villa throws out a powerful jab. Villa lands a nice looking body shot.

Knox looks to land a combination but Bean avoids it well. Bean tries to close the distance and clinch but Knox swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Knox scores with a three punch combo!

I was talking to Knox's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. #R1# Big Foot scores with a jab to the body. Big Foot has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Big Foot blocks a head kick by Bean.

Bean tries to counter by clinching up but Big Foot breaks away and moves out of range. Big Foot throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.#CL2# Big Foot moves into the clinch successfully.
#TD# Bean decides to pull guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Big Foot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bean swivels though and keeps the full guard. #SUB2# Big Foot drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bean manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Big Foot has Bean in his guard.#REVR# Bean seems content to control from guard here. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Madera's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Madera makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Madera is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Madera keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shrute's head. Madera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#T1##SUB2# Madera drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Madera as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Shrute screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Madera! Nice submission victory there!

Pawn appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Mitler looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Mitler shoots in for a takedown but Pawn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. It looked like Pawn was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mitler. Mitler just misses with a punch to the body.

Madera manages to get full guard. #SUB2# Kontiainen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Madera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kontiainen has managed to get both his arms back between Madera's legs - danger averted. Kontiainen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kontiainen stays in close to Madera's body and controls the position. Kontiainen throws a strike but Madera rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. #REVB# Madera throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kontiainen works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kontiainen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kontiainen throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
