Bob thows a leg kick but Behnder checks it and Behnder counters with a thumping low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Behnder uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Bob steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Behnder. That one must have hurt.#T1# Behnder paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Bob throws a leg kick and Behnder counters with a thumping low kick. Behnder lands a really nice looking cross but Bob seems unphased.

Behnder throws a leg kick which misses Bob's front leg but catches the back leg as Bob tries to avoid it. Bob swings for the body but Behnder moves out of range.

and Sepultra makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ignatowski tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Ignatowski misses with a leg kick and Sepultra counters with a good, hard body kick but Ignatowski shrugs it off. #T1# A good leg kick by Sepultra. Sepultra connects with a solid leg kick. Ignatowski throws a solid leg kick but Sepultra takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ignatowski. Sepultra counters with a body kick. Ignatowski takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

#R1# Costa tries to clinch up. Gravas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Costa. Gravas thinks about countering with a body kick. Costa scores with a hook. Costa throws a head kick that misses and Gravas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Gravas lands a body shot.
That kick from Gravas tenderised Costa's leg. Costa is trying to keep his angry face on. Costa missing with a left hand there. Gravas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Costa moves away from the strike by Gravas. A little jabbing left from Costa on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Costa blocks a jab. Costa uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gravas. Costa throws a head kick but Gravas moves out of range.
As Costa backs away, Gravas returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Nice shot by Costa. Costa takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Costa has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gravas looks to land a body kick but Costa moved away. Costa throws a jab but it's blocked by Gravas. Costa lands a nice shot that snaps Gravas's head back.

Gravas waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Costa. Costa is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Gravas looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Good work by Gravas as he checks the leg kick.#CL2# Costa moves into the clinch successfully.

Gravas lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Gravas pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Costa is trying to maintain a safe position but Gravas gets an underhook and turns Costa into the cage. Gravas using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Costa has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Gravas lands a hook to the side of the head.#KD# Gravas drops Costa with a big knee straight up the middle! Costa is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet! Costa is still on wobbly legs! Can Gravas finish him? Costa switches off momentarily and Gravas cracks him with a monster right hand! Costa topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Gravas dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Gravas!

and Coker counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Baker off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Coker follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Baker was out before he hit the floor.

A lazy left from Sole finds it's target. Sole dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Christian. That did some damage! A slapping leg kick lands for Sole.
Christian shoots and misses and Sole counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Jacks Sole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sole scores with a leg kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Sole. Donk. Sole catches Christian right on the button with a cross. Sole wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Sole lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#CL# Sole fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Christian, pushing him back against the cage. Sole scores a nice knee to the body.
Christian looks winded! With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sole creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Sole working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A short uppercut from Sole. I was talking to Sole's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Sole scores with a nice hook to the head.#T1# Sole lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Christian backwards. Sole lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Shioda sizes up Sakamoto with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Shioda keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Shioda is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sakamoto. As Shioda looks to move away, Sakamoto throws a big counter combo but Shioda just gets out of the way. Shioda lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sakamoto, as that shot connected.
Shioda is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sakamoto had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Shioda misses with an uppercut
